A Coleman Christmas (part 1)

We are lucky enough to have the whole Coleman clan (sans Jean-Marc) visiting for Christmas. Beside cooking dinner, making poteca, locating and decorating a Christmas tree and various household fix-ups, they've had plenty of time to hold babies.

Here's Grandma...

Whoops, it's nap time:
Much better!

Week 11 (Adi rolls over!)

Adi has started to push up a lot in tummy time, holding her head up and looking back and forth for several seconds.

On Wednesday morning, Dave and I were watching her push up higher and higher and then- whoops! a little too high- and she rolled right over.

We're trying not to compare the girls too much, but we have been giving Mae more tummy time because she seems to have stopped lifting her head. Instead of trying, most of the time she is just content to suck on whichever fist is by her mouth. She has been cooing and smiling a lot, though, so I think she is just concentrating on verbal development right now.
Yesterday the girls fell asleep after nursing and were sucking on their hands... but not their own.

9 weeks

The girls got their first immunizations on Friday, which was more difficult for us I think because they forgot about them so quickly. At least they didn't seem to hold it against us that we held them to get the shots. We also had our first experience with babies who didn't feel well, as Adi was so fussy she wouldn't eat at a few feedings, and both girls had slight fevers (I guess this is normal after immunizations). However, they seemed to recover after 24 hours and we decided they were well enough to go to the Children's Holiday Party at my work. Pictures with Santa will be coming later...

Since Adeline wakes up most nights before Meredith (who we then wake up to eat at the same time) we think Meredith might be able to sleep longer. So tonight is the second trial of separate feedings; I got up with Adi and have now pumped some milk for Dave to give to Meredith if (when?!) she wakes up. I'll let you know how it goes- it would be a lot easier if we only had to feed one baby at night.
